How-to make chocolate Easter bunnies for your mini dolls

This craft is inspired by Palmer's Peter Rabbit milk chocolate bunnies. They are a true Easter classic! It doesn't feel like Easter without these!

Purchase small plastic bunnies. I found these at a thrift shop.

Paint bunnies. You will need to paint 3-4 coats to cover the plastic.

After four coats of paint.

Now it's time to add some color!

Paint the eyes yellow and let dry.

Paint small blue dots on the eyes, then paint the carrots and flowers. This makes them look like the real Palmer's chocolate rabbits!

Add a few coats of mod podge to seal the paint.

Next you will need a piece of green felt, scrapbook paper that looks like the sky and a small jewelry box or cardboard box found at a craft store.

The lid will be the box for the chocolate bunnies. Cut a small piece from the bottom to use as the front part of the box. Glue in place.

Paint the outside of the box yellow. When dry, add two coats of mod podge.

Cut a piece of the scrapbook paper to use as the background of the box. Use mod podge to glue the paper down, then add two coats to the top, smoothing out any air bubbles.

Cut a small piece of green felt to look like grass and glue to the bottom of the box.

Paint the logo to look the real Palmer's Peter Rabbit box :-) When dry, add a layer of mod podge.

Cut a small piece of plastic (save pieces from things you buy). Cut to fit the front of the box.

Set your bunnies inside the box. You can glue them down or not. I did not glue mine.

Add the plastic to the front of the box and you are done! Perfect for your doll's Easter basket!
