Dining room makeover

It's crazy to think this was our dining room a year ago. We changed the color from Lime to Wheatbread. I found the two bookshelves at a garage sale and painted them Ivory. I also painted our dining room set to match. We are still working on the last of the trim, but we're almost done!

$2 Thrift Frame

I bought this frame at Goodwill for $2.  I really like the burlap backing, but did not like the color.

I put tape on the burlap then painted the frame ivory.

I used 2 coats of paint then removed the tape after it dried.

I had these wooden birds for a while and thought they'd look cute in the frame.

I found this paint at Home Depot for only $9.  It's called Oops Paint, so that's why it was so cheap.  It matches the color of my bird lamp perfectly.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween chair

I found this idea on Pintrist and wanted to make my own Halloween accent chair 😊

Find or purchase an old wooden chair. I bought this one at Savers for $5. Other supplies include a Halloween stencil and a sample of Behr Marquee paint - Orange Liqueur.

Paint the chair (I used 3 coats) then stencil on the design.

Seal with poly.

For the pillow- Sew fabric right sides together, leaving a small opening. I used an old rice sack I found at a thrift shop.

Clip corners and turn right side out.

Tape stencil to fabric. Take a small amount of fabric paint on a sponge and lightly dab on pillow.

It's looking pretty creepy! 🕷

Paint the remaining web string to top of the pillow seam using the same wavy pattern of the stencil.

Stuff pillow and sew open seam.

Place the pillow on your chair and have a seat.

A DIY project on Home Depot's blog

We found a halltree project on Home Depot's blog. Supplies are an old door (which we had), table legs, brackets and common board.

I painted it using the same color as Home Depot did. It's called Calligraphy.

It was a fun project that we got done in a day!

We love it! A big thanks to Home Depot for the how-to!!
