How-to make a quilt

I've been wanting to make a quilt for my new niece. 💜💚💙 I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Purchase cotton fabric for the front of the quilt and anti-pill fleece for the back.

Cut the cotton fabric in 15" squares.

Lay out the squares using the fleece backing as a guide.

Arrange the squares.

Be prepared for a Shih Tzu to nap on the squares.

Rearrange after the Shih Tzu wakes up.

Lay out each row in the order you will sew together.

Make sure the stretchy part of the fabric is horizontal and the pattern is right side up. Sew each row of squares.

Lay out each row as you go.

Press seams open.

Sew the rows right sides together making sure the seams match up and the pattern is right side up.

Press seams open.

The front is complete!

Lay the quilt top on the fleece backing right sides together and trim the excess fleece.

Lay the batting on top then trim excess and pin together.

Sew together leaving a 12" opening on the bottom of the quilt.

Clip corners.

Turn right sides out.

Press outside seams.

Sew open seam closed.

Sew 3" rows throughout the quilt to hold the batting in place.

Done!

Thanks for stopping by!
